First Music Video Uploaded

March 28th, 2009

Mental Deficiency has uploaded the first music to youtube you can see it at blah blah blah.

It has had very little views and I’m quite disheartened about that. It’s a rough video but that was the whole point, for some reason it is stuck on two hundred views I don’t know if that means that no one is watching it. Part of me wants to think that it is one of these youtube conspiracy theories that you hear about. You know that we’ve had thousands of views but youtube doesn’t want it that way because they are evil and corporationy.

That is not the case, what was i expecting, it’s a music video after all, it is meant as an ad for the song. A little disappointed that it’s not getting many views. Then again what does how many views something gets matter, it’s still early on, we only added the video two days ago.

Making the video was a laugh it took about four hours to do. Even then it was much standing around and the main points of interest were. I took a hissy fit when the hat wouldn’t stay on, BassFace liked to hump alot Rockify needed to keep his hair perfect and Marmaduke failed to see the point in doing anything.

Onto the next one.

Get her home get her bucked should be interesting.

Is summer already here?

March 21st, 2009

Is the summer here already? If it is I’m screwed as this kind of great weather I want for the film I want to shoot in July. If it comes summer and we have terrible weather again I will be ever so pissed.
Damn global warming (probably)

Gig cancelled

March 21st, 2009

As soon as it starts it stops. The gig has been cancelled. The other band’s drummer has come down with a virus. It isreportedly thelazyitis bug which is prevelant today. The drummer probably is genuinley sick but I’ll never know for sure. It always when they phone in at the last possible minute does it arouse my suspicions. It doesn’t matter anyway the gig isn’t going ahead we were going to perform Girlfriend in a Coma as a tribute to Big Liam.
Our next gig will be the Rosetta on the 11th. Hope to see you there. Provided it still goes ahead.

In a film

March 21st, 2009

A few weeks ago Alex and I were invited to a meeting. These meetings bring out my cynical side. If you have ever been slightly involved with someone with a video camera you will know what to expect. Everybody goes from being a normal person to artistic arsehole in a split second. Having been involved with a dew projects that either never came to be or did and probably shouldn’t have I was prepared for the usual.

Brian starred as Phelim Noir in our university project “Noir”. Since then he has become interested in film making. He was camera man on “A Day in the Life of a Cleaner” and the music video for the Morrigan, two projects I directed. (which can be viewed on www.youtube.com/user/fastville) He and his friend Bill made the impressive Screaming Room DVD (which you can find at www.screamingroom.co.uk)

The meeting we were invited to was discuss the project that the two are working on entitled Red Harvest. At first I thought hold on are they doing a literary adaptation of Dashielle Hammetts’s Red Harvest, the book that inspired Yojimbo, A Fistful of Dollars and Millers Crossing? It turned no it was to be a horror film. Was it going to be about a psychopathic combine harvester driver? Again no. It was to be set in a school and Red Harvest was to be their working title. Oh ok. Obviously they wanted me there so they could ask for a loan of the camera. No.

I have been asked to act in the film, its actually quite a substantial role. I am really excited and hope that it gets made. Everyone involved is excited and shooting begins on May 18th.

My only worry is that I might suck, then I look in the mirror and realise that not only am I gorgeous I am also massivley talented. (If I am to do my best it is important that i believe this.)
