MD at the Limelight – Part 1

Shred Head Joins the Party!

Greetings Mental fans! Those of you hardcore enough to attend our Downpatrick and Ards gigs over the last month may have noticed a new face in the MD line-up.

During a band outing to the cinema to see Robocop, we noticed a familiar looking chap buying popcorn. Black hoodie, pyjama bottoms, a crazy looking mask; the trademark get-up of our very own Bass Face. But it wasn’t him! An imposter perhaps? A crazed MD fan who experiences sexual thrills from dressing as its members? We’ve met plenty of those. This man was not one of them.

After some intense questioning it emerged that this character was in fact Shred Head, Bass Face’s long lost brother from Japan! After lots of crying and catching up, it made sense to invite Shred to join the MD posse. The two brothers can now make up for lost time through the power of rock!

Some issues still need to be resolved however. As far as Bass Face was concerned, Shred Head died trying to save him in the penguin attack that brutally disfigured him, forcing him to don the mask. How can he still be alive? It’s a touchy subject. Shred will likely reveal the details of his past when he’s ready.

To celebrate the re-uniting of the two brothers, we are rocking the Limelight on Friday the 27th of February. It’s an early gig, be there for 5:30pm to experience history in the making. The orderlies will be in attendance for your safety.

First Gigs of 2010 Announced

Last year, MD rocked The Ivy Bar so hard they were offered a residency. This year, we’ll be returning there for three dates to rock it some more! We’re also going to be confusing some hardcore metallers at The Limelight’s RocKD, hosted by The Distortion Project. More information on this event to follow.

Check out the Gigs page for dates!

The New MD Site

Greetings Mentalheads. Welcome to the new Mental Deficiency site. Time for a quick review of our many achievements over the year.

1. MD break their old buddy Bass Face out of the nuthouse. He joins them in their conquest to bring the noise.

2. ‘Get Her Home Get Her Bucked,’ becomes a sensation across primary school playgrounds throughout the country.

3. Xander Rockify walked into a nuclear reactor whilst holding a deck of cards and emerged as Alex Kazam.

4. Mr Majestic directed his first film, ‘Deadville.’ It’s got zombie lovin. He also takes his lead from Lady Gaga and introduces costume changes to the MD show.

5. Sgt Marmaduke finally felt an emotion.

The MD show will be rolling through a dive near you in the new year. If you thought we rocked in 2009, just wait til 2010.

Have a very mental Christmas.
